BJP will try to rope in all like-minded parties to demand an Adjournment Motion in the Lok Sabha "more aggressively" tomorrow on the issue of price rise.

The decision to prepare a common strategy came after speaker Meira Kumar rejected the opposition demand for an Adjournment Motion on price rise today.

"The decision of the Chair is disappointing and unfortunate. We have not given up the issue and will put it up again in Parliament tomorrow. All opposition will be united on this issue. We will be one and more aggressive," Deputy Leader of BJP in Lok Sabha Gopinath Munde said.

BJP will discuss the strategy with other political parties, including the Left, RJD and SP, tomorrow morning before the two Houses of Parliament meet for the day.

"BJP will not strategise alone. All opposition parties are together on this issue," Munde claimed.

A meeting of NDA floor leaders held earlier today decided that the decision of the Speaker against the Adjournment Motion was "not up to their expectations".

Sources said BJP and its NDA allies have already decided that they will not allow the Parliament to function tomorrow if a decision is not taken in favour of a discussion and voting on price rise.

"We will force an adjournment tomorrow as well. But the Lok Sabha is likely to function on Friday as private members Bills would be discussed. On Monday, we plan to demand discussion on price rise under Rule 184 which also entails voting," a senior BJP MP said.

However, the government is not likely to accept this demand as well and this may lead to further disruptions in the coming week.

BJP was also critical of the views expressed by Leader of the House in Lok Sabha Pranab Mukherjee on Adjournment Motion.

"The Leader of the House said today that even if a majority of the members favoured an Adjournment Motion it would not have been accepted... This shows they feared that the majority in the House wants an Adjournment Motion. This also proved that the whole opposition is united," Munde said.

He maintained that Trinamool Congress suggested a discussion on price rise under Rule 193 as this does not include voting and Mamata Banerjee's party would not like to face the predicament of voting against the government of which it is a part.
