The BJP will review land acquisition cases of the Mayawati regime if it is voted to power in Uttar Pradesh, a senior party leader said today.

"Bogus cases against the farmers would be withdrawn and they would be paid their due compensation when the BJP will form the Uttar Pradesh government," party national vice-president Kalaraj Mishra said.

The senior leader was addressing a kisan panchayat during his Kisan Bachao Yatra at Raya town of the district.

"A commission will be formed to probe the process of land acquisition which were done for the benefit of industrial houses," Mishra stated.

The present acquisition policy of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) government has jeopardising the total social fabric of villages, he said.

"It appears that agriculture is not in the agenda of BSP government. While it is acquiring land at very cheap rates, farmers are being deprived of their due," he alleged.
