Amid growing attacks on BS Yeddyurappa over the issue of alleged land scams, BJP today said it would go by the court's decision on the controversial matter of denotification of land by the Karnataka chief minister.

"It is the privilege and right of the chief minister to denotify the land. Now the matter is in the court. Let the court decide," BJP president Nitin Gadkari told reporters here.

Gadkari's comment is significant as it comes against the backdrop of demands by BJP's detractors for Yeddyurappa's removal and the issue being used to counter attacks by the party on Congress over various scams.

In reply to a question as to what action the BJP was taking on the issue of corruption in Karnataka, Gadkari said "denotification of land is the only issue. Under that law three previous chief ministers have denotified land three times more than what was done now. That law was passed by the Karnataka Assembly."

Yeddyurappa had sought to take the battle to his detractors' court yesterday by announcing plans to bring out a "charge sheet" against JD(S) supremo H D Deve Gowda and his family members on the issue of land scams.

Unfazed by the opposition campaign for his removal, Yeddyurappa had declared that his government is going to last a full five-year term and central leaders of the BJP were "happy about my performance".

"I want to publish a charge sheet against Deve Gowda and his family members before Parliament session. So many illegal transactions have taken place, especially land scams. Let them discuss it in Parliament," Yeddyurappa had told reporters.
