The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) warmed up its political activity against the Congress. The saffron party has decided to tackle its arch rival over corruption issues, black money and scams to garner mileage before the 2012 assembly polls.

The ruling party has organised almost 400 programmes against Congress across the state since February this year. The youth cell of the BJP is spearheading the campaigns in the state right now.

The party has decided to raise issues like the Lokpal Bill and Baba Ramdev's fast in the next three months. Big leaders of the party are also expected to visit the state by the end of this year.

According to data available with DNA, BJP has started anti corruption campaign and has run eight different drives across the state since April this year. They also targetted UPA's soft approach towards terrorism and its alleged defamatory statements regarding Shahid Bhagat Singh.

The eight drives include signature campaigns, graffiti on walls, fasts, writing post cards and mails against corruption
and Padyatras.

Sources in the BJP said, "It is the right time to target corruption tinted Congress led UPA." "The party is organising more programmes to catch attention of the people," sources added.

BJP critics believe that the party has lost face due to arrest of its popular minister Amit Shah and with reports of CM Modi's
involvement in 2002 Godhra riots. Thus, it is trying to divert the attention towards Congress' fallacies.

The BJP runs programmes in 26 districts and 7 municipal corporations in the state
