Union minister Anand Sharma on Friday termed as "unfortunate" the BJP's allegation that Congress misused the CBI in the Dara Singh fake encounter case, in connection with which a BJP MLA has been arrested.

"The BJP allegations on the Congress government in the state that CBI is being misused is very unfortunate. They should have faith in the judiciary," he told reporters on the sidelines of a meeting with traders here tonight.

The BJP yesterday came out in defence of its Rajasthan MLA Rajendra Rathore, arrested in the Dara Singh fake counter case, accusing the Congress of playing caste politics and misusing the CBI.

Sharma, who holds the commerce portfolio, also held a meeting with Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and discussed with him the progress made in various proposed projects of the state government.

He also visited the Pradesh Congress Committee office and interacted with party workers there.

The minister exhorted the party workers to reach out to the youth in the state as "the onus of development now lies in their hands".

"Opportunities will generate with industrialisation but for that it is necessary to provide skill training to youth. The country is still facing challenges from poverty and backwardness," he said.

Sharma and Gehlot will inaugurate a National Institute of Technology and a spice park in Jodhpur tomorrow.
