Congress leader Digvijay Singh on Sunday said that the BJP and the RSS should introspect as to why those having links with Sangh Parivar "have been caught" indulging in terrorist activities.

Maintaining that he never supported religious profiling on the issue of terrorism, Singh said, "All through my long political career, I have always maintained that terrorism is bad, irrespective of the religion of the people who indulge in it."

The Congress general secretary, who has been under attack from BJP and Sangh outfits for his remarks on Hindu terror, said, "Not all Hindus are terrorists but a number of people who had been caught in connection with terrorist activities had links with the RSS or its allied organisations.

"The time has come for the BJP and the RSS to undertake an introspection and find out as to why those having links with the Sangh Parivar have been caught indulging in terrorist activities," the Congress leader said.

Singh said that there was no question of his being against Hindus as he himself was a "serious and practicing Hindu."

"Both my parents were Hindus and my wife and kids are also all Hindus," the AICC leader said.
