BJP today questioned UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi's "curious silence" on the issue of black money, demanding that people of the country be told about her stand on the matter.

Senior leader and former BJP president Rajnath Singh said he was surprised by Sonia Gandhi's silence on the burning issue.

"She speaks on all sensitive issues, but curiously has maintained silence on unearthing of black money kept in foreign banks. People want to know her stand," he said.

Huge amounts of black money have been stashed away in foreign banks, Singh said and demanded that the money be brought back to the country and names of the account holders be made public.

"If the BJP comes to power at the Centre, we will bring back the ill-gotten money and spend Rs15 to 20 crore for development of each village in the country," he said.

Referring to the recent faux pas by external affairs minister SM Krishna who read out a wrong speech at a UN function, Singh said, "Leaders are losing their mental balance."
