The Goa BJP has assured that those involved in the illegal mining activity would be investigated through Lok Ayukta once the party comes to power.

Leader of Opposition Manohar Parrikar said that the involvement of certain leaders and officials in the illegal mining activity has been exposed. "Their involvement can be clarified from the government files," he said.

Parrikar said the entire case would be handed over to Lok Ayukta for investigation.

The party has assured that Lokayukta would be in place within 100 days. "All the scams including illegal mining would be handed over to Lok Ayukta," Parrikar said.

The party has also assured to invest back 60% of mining royalty to be spent on the development of infrastructure and environment revitalisation.

Parrikar said eight constituencies have been suffering due to rampant mining activity. "There is no proper infrastructure in these constituencies. Total 60% of royalty will be invested for infrastructure in these areas," Parrikar said.

The Goa government collects around Rs1,000 crore in the form of mining royalties.

"At least Rs700-800 crore would be invested in these talukas," he said.
