BJP disapproves of Ram Jethmalani's comments on Kashmir

BJP today disapproved of the remarks made by eminent jurist and MP Ram Jethmalani that a section of the country's people did not want a permanent solution to the Kashmir issue and said it was his "personal and academic opinion".

"Jethmalani is not a spokesperson of BJP, nor are his reported comments the opinion of the party," BJP national spokesperson Rajiv Pratap Rudy told reporters in reply to a question.

Jethmalani made the comment in an interview last week, when he had backed the view of interlocutors on Kashmir that the issue was disputed.
