Satellite police said Apurva Maharshi, 25, a resident of Sun City Bopal, was passing by Devashish School in Satellite in his Indigo car at around 10:30pm on Wednesday when two men on bike intercepted him.
Two men were stabbed by motorbike-borne men in different incidents within 12 hours in the city. While a data entry service provider was assaulted in Satellite late on Wednesday night, a courier employee was attacked near Income Tax Circle early on Thursday.
Satellite police said Apurva Maharshi, 25, a resident of Sun City Bopal, was passing by Devashish School in Satellite in his Indigo car at around 10:30pm on Wednesday when two men on bike intercepted him.
They dragged Maharshi out of his car and stabbed him. They threatened to kill him if he did not withdraw his complaint against one Ranjan.
Maharshi was rushed to Jivraj Mehta Hospital and his condition was reported to be out of danger.
In his complaint, lodged at Satellite police station, Maharshi stated that Ranjan had not paid his dues for the data entry services he had hired. So he had filed a police complaint against Ranjan.
Satellite police have registered a case of assault in this connection.
In the second incident of stabbing, two motorcycle-borne men tried to snatch a bag of Satish Mehta, an employee of BK Courier, which has its office near Ankur Cross Roads.
Naranpura police said BK Courier has a service contract with Bank of Baroda (BOB), Income Tax Circle branch. Mehta, 50, a resident of Povapuri society, Ghatlodia, goes to this branch of the bank regularly to collect cheques.
On Thursday, as he set out for his office after collecting cheques from the bank, two men on a bike intercepted him and tried to snatch his bag containing the cheques.
However, Mehta did not let go of the bag even as the assailants stabbed him. He was taken to VS Hospital where his condition was reported to be out of danger.
