Bihar BJP President CP Thakur calls upon Chidambaram to quit

The BJP today said Union Home Minister P Chidambaram should tender resignation from Manmohan Singh cabinet 'on the call of his conscience.'

"Chidambaram should tender his resignation from union cabinet on the call of his conscience as whatever information has been passed on to him in the capacity of being Finance Minister earlier, he should have applied his mind and take preventive steps," Bihar BJP president CP Thakur said.

Thakur urged Chidambaram to follow the principle of "transparency and maintain clean image and resign without any further delay."

He criticised Prime Minister for coming out in defense of Chidambaram.
