Both Jammu and Kashmir wore a deserted look on Monday, but for different reasons.

While the winter capital participated in Bharat Bandh, the Valley was under curfew and observing a shutdown against the recent killings in CRPF fire.

Shops and businesses remained shut and public transport was off the roads in Jammu city.

“Price rise affects all. We respected the sentiment of the common man and shut businesses,” Yashpal Gupta, president of Jammu Traders Federation, said.

“The bandh was complete. People voluntary shut shops. Our workers held rallies in different areas culminating at Subhash Chowk,” Ashok Khajuria, former state BJP president, said.
Curfew was imposed in parts of the Valley.
