Bangladesh army chief on six-day visit to India

In a bid to strengthen military relations, Bangladesh Army chief General Mohd Abdul Mubeen is visiting India from March 14 to 20.
    
During the six-day visit, Mubeen will hold discussions with defence minister AK Antony, the three services chiefs and the national security adviser, defence ministry officials said.
    
He will also visit important military training establishments and field formations in Jaipur, Ajmer and Kolkata.
    
The visit assumes special significance in the light of improving military cooperation between the two countries in consonance with India's growing relationship with Bangladesh, they added.
    
Military-to-military cooperation between Bangladesh and Indian Armed Forces "encompass exchange of high and medium level visits, availing of training courses in each other's training institutions, witnessing of designed exercises by military observers from both sides, exchange of war veterans and sharing experience in disaster management," officials said.
