Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit today said the 'Bharat Bandh' called by the opposition parties to protest against fuel price hike was a "flop show" in the city as it failed to evoke any response.

Dikshit said people in the city have not extended their support to the bandh as they know the "credibility level" of BJP in Delhi.

When asked whether the Bharat Bandh was a "flop show" in Delhi, she said, "I think so. It hardly evoked any response".

The chief minister, however, said price rise was a "matter of concern" for both Central and Delhi governments and sincere efforts are on to contain prices of essential commodities.

"Even if price rise is an issue, still people are not ready to go with BJP considering their credibility level," Dikshit said.

Besides the BJP, those participating in the bandh are Shiv Sena, Samajwadi Party, JD-U, CPI-M, CPI, Forward Block, RSP, AIADMK, PMK, MDMK TDP, BJD, JD(S), AGP, Akali Dal and INLD.

The nation-wide bandh did not seem to have hit normal life in the capital today though BJP workers blocked road, rail and Metro services in some areas.

Buses, autos and private vehicles were plying on the streets from the morning, while offices registered more than an average attendance. Operations at the Indira Gandhi International airport were reported normal.
