'The government is not able to control the traders, because they take money from them,' charged BSP general secretary Suresh Mane.

Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) general secretary Suresh Mane today alleged the UPA Government was unable to control the prices of essential commodities because Congress had reveived money from industrialists and traders for election expenses.
Congress was taking money from industrialists and traders for election expenses and allowed them to hike the prices of
various commodities in different ways after the elections, he told reporters in Madurai.
"The government is not able to control the traders, because they take money from them," he charged.
He said enrolment of party membership in Tamil Nadu was going on since January 16 in Tamil Nadu. "We plan to enroll two lakh members in the state before January 2011."
Alleging that more atrocities were committed against SCs and STs in Tamil Nadu compared to other states, he said "Two tumbler system, untouchability etc are still practised in the state".
He said BSP would contest next assembly elections alone or in alliance with like-minded parties.
