Singh wrote that Bachchan earlier today met Tamil Nadu chief minister M Karunanidhi and will also be going to Kerala where he will meet chief minister VS Achuthanandan.
Expelled Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Amar Singh today came in defence of actor Amitabh Bachchan's recent meeting with Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi and his decision to become the brand ambassador of the state, saying he had actually gone only to promote his film Paa.
Singh mentioned in his blog: "Bachchan had gone to meet the chief minister Narendra Modi and not the RSS worker Narendra Modi, for promoting his film Paa. If Modi asked him to promote Gujarat then what is the harm in it".
He was referring to Bachchan becoming Gujarat's brand ambassador.
Attacking SP spokesman Mohan Singh without naming him, Amar said: "My former party's spokesman even went ahead and described Bachchan's meeting with Modi as an effort towards ensuring his wife Jaya Bachchan's Rajya Sabha nomination in
future".

"Even if his bitter critic Uttar Pradesh chief minister Mayawati asks Bachchan to promote Taj Mahal, he will do it. He is touring the entire country, does this mean he is busy ensuring his wife's future RS nomination?" he said.
The former SP leader also took potshots at those who are blaming him for bringing corporate culture within the SP fold.
"Before I was SP's Rajya Sabha member, my former party had nominated VHP chief Vishnu Dalmia's son Sanjay Dalmia to the Upper House. So, Netaji (Mulayam) has been in the company of corporates for the better part of the 18 years of his party's existence," he wrote on his blog.
