Assistant expenditure observers in 16 constituencies in Chennai

Assistant expenditure observers have been appointed for 16 constituencies in Chennai to monitor expenses of candidates for the April 13 assembly polls, district election officer T Karthikeyan said.

"In view of the assembly polls, the Election Commission has appointed poll expenditure observers to monitor expenses of candidates. To assist them, officials in Central Government departments have been appointed as assistant expenditure observers for each constituency", Karthikeyan, also Chennai
corporation commissioner, said in a statement here.
