Ashok Gehlot names newborn baby 'Sonia'

The Janani Shisu Suraksha Yojna was a scheme launched by Sonia Gandhi to provide healthcare facilities to pregnant women and infants free of cost.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot today named a newborn baby of a BPL woman after the UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi.

During his visit to the primary health centre at Ramsar village in Barmer district, Gehlot was told that a woman Durga Devi, one of the beneficiaries of a scheme launched by the Congress chief for the welfare of pregnant women, had given birth to a girl child last night.

Later, talking to the woman and her family members, the chief minister said as Janani Shisu Suraksha Yojna was a
scheme launched by Sonia Gandhi to provide healthcare facilities to pregnant women and infants free of cost the
newborn should be named after her.

Her family members happily agreed and the baby was named 'Sonia'.
