Army colonel, jawan killed in blast in Assam

An army colonel and a jawan were killed in an IED blast in Assam's Sonitpur district today.

Defence sources said the blast took place at Chariduar, near Bhalukpung at around 6.30 am when the army official from the medical corps and the jawan were accompanying an ambulance from here to Tenga in Arunachal Pradesh.

The colonel was identified as Parimal but the identity of the jawan is yet to be ascertained.
