APJ Abdul Kalam takes a look at his awards in his residence's museum

Former president APJ Abdul Kalam today went around a museum established at his
residence here and viewed various awards and accolades he had won as a scientist, besides documents and his work as first
citizen of the country.

"I was happy to go around the museum that has been set up during my lifetime something which is very rare," he told reporters after the visit.
  

Kalam said the museum was the initiative of Dr Shivathanu Pillai, director of Brahmos and said that it was set up in such a way as to attract tourists from all over the world.

He said he was impressed with a photograph of a fighter plane in which he was seated and remarked that it was his childhood dream to fly in a fighter plane.

The museum also has photographs of Kalam's childhood, contributed by his family members.

The former president also spent some time with his brother Muthu Meeran Marakier and niece, Joharammal.
