Murdered Brit-Indian bride Anni Dewani's cousin Sneha Hindocha regrets advising her to sort things out with her to be husband, Shrien Dewani following a row before their wedding, which later cost Anni her life.

"She was crying and absolutely serious about calling it off. I said she should tell him how she felt and if he could understand her, then maybe she should go ahead with the wedding," the Mirror quoted Sneha, as saying. "I wish I had just told her to come home... then she would still be here today. That's my regret and I'm going to have to carry it with me for the rest of my life," she added.

Anni was kidnapped and shot dead two weeks after her wedding on her honeymoon in South Africa. Sneha recalled that Anni was introduced to a wealthy Bristol businessman Dewani in May 2009 and in June Dewani had proposed her with a 25,000 pound ring over a dinner at Paris.

Sneha also said Anni "had doubts about Shrien. He could be controlling and pedantic... he folds his dirty laundry before he puts it in the basket, which Anni found weird." Sneha was in the girls' Luton flat when she got the phone call informing her about Anni's death. She helped to dress Anni's body for the last time at the latter's funeral.

"I had always done Anni's make-up, so I wanted to do it one last time.. Shrien was there and he was treating her body so roughly. He was trying to put bangles on Anni's arms but they wouldn't fit and he was really squeezing her arm. I screamed at him, 'Stop doing that, you're hurting her!," she said.  "It's a pain inside that I live with every day. I want Shrien to go to South Africa as soon as possible. We want to know the truth and we will only know that when the evidence is challenged and witnesses are cross-examined in court. We will fight as long as it takes... for Anni," she added.
