Andhra professor's book makes it to Guinness for longest title

An Assistant Professor from Mahabubnagar district of Andhra Pradesh has set a new Guinness World Record with the title of his book running into a record '1,086 words with 5,633 characters'.

Vangeepuram Sreenathachary, Assistant Professor (English) at Palamuru University in Mahabubnagar district, wrote the book about the origin and etymology of 108 Idioms, Proverbs, Phrases and Words of English in a cartoon frame with the longest title in 1,086 words and 5,633 characters.

This title has now broken the record of Essam Mashaly’s (Egypt) longest title (of his book), of '301 words and 1,518 characters'.

The Guinness authorities confirmed the new record last month and officially declared the same this month and a certificate for the achievement has been issued by the Guinness World Records, London , according to Sreenathachary.

"The 125-page book was released last year on September 27," Sreenathachary said.

By setting this new record, Sreenathachary said he has also become the first Assistant Professor among Assistant and Associate Professors in India , who entered into the Guinness World Record holders list in the relevant subject.
