Tamil Nadu Assembly speaker R Avudaiyappan today relaxed the two-day suspension of opposition AIADMK members from the House following a request by chief minister M Karunanidhi and allowed them to participate in tomorrow's proceedings.

The AIADMK members were yesterday suspended en masse till April 9, the last day of the discussion on the budget, after they were evicted for creating a ruckus over a remark made by a ruling DMK member.

Karunanidhi requested the speaker to relax the suspension, saying the action should only serve as a warning.

"I request you to relax the two-day suspension to one day," he said.

Subsequently, finance minister and Leader of the House K Anbazhagan moved a motion to relax the suspension.
