AIADMK has demanded that health authorities in Puducherry launch a mass vaccination drive free of cost against swine flu.
Party local unit secretary A Anbalagan, MLA told reporters that Puducherry has already reported some A (H1N1) positive cases and urged authorities to undertake vaccination free of cost at all Primary Health Centres and government hospitals.
He also wanted the government to review whether cracker manufacturing units had relevant licences as two workers of an unlicensed factory were injured yesterday when bundles of wigs they were carrying caught fire after it was ignited by a spark from a two-wheeler silencer.
There should be review of the factories and their bonafides, he said.
