Ahmedabad wife seeks hubby’s custody

In an unusual case, a wife filed an application seeking police custody of her husband to know about his second marriage. She also wants to know about how he spent the money that he got by selling her jewellery and unlocking the fixed deposit kept for their daughter.

The court took cognisance of the application and issued a notice to the investigating officer in the case.

The case has been adjourned to August 21. On Monday, Jyoti Dave, a resident of Satellite moved an application before the magistrate court seeking police custody of her husband Saunik Dave.

In her application, she alleged that her husband married a woman from Romania despite being wedded to her. She said they then stayed at a rented place in Goa.

Jyoti further alleged that Saunik mortgaged her gold jewellery and told her that the money had been put in a fixed deposit account for their nine-year-old daughter.

She has sought seven days police custody of her husband to know the whereabouts of her money.
