Ahmedabad teacher accused of molesting student

The father of a 14-year-old girl lodged a police complaint against his daughter's schoolteacher accusing him of molesting her. The complaint was lodged at the Sardarnagar police station on Wednesday evening.

According to police officials, Prabhat Sunderva, 40, a resident of Kubernagar, had lodged a complaint against Suresh Patel, a teacher at an English medium school. In his complaint, Sunderva has alleged that Patel visited his house when the girl was alone and tried to molest her. Sunderva works at a private hospital.

"Patel is a teacher at the A1 Xaviers School in Adishwar Nagar in Naroda. The complainant's daughter is a student of the same school. As per the complaint, the girl was alone at home when Patel came to her residence. The teacher started misbehaving with the girl. Terrified, she ran out of the house and started shouting. Hearing her, the neighbours came to her rescue and caught the teacher. The police were also informed," said investigating officer RV Rabari of the Sardarnagar police station.
