Ahmedabad share trading firm accused of cheating

A VS hospital doctor has accused an employee of a share trading company of duping her of shares worth Rs9 lakh. According to a complaint registered with Navrangpura police station, Dr Parika Shah, a resident of Raviniketan Apartment in Vastrapur, has accused one Jayprakash Juyal of duping her of Rs9 lakh.

Juyal, an employee of Karvy Stock Broking in Panchvati, used to handle the demat account of Dr Shah as per her instructions. Before the alleged fraud came to light, Dr Shah had shares worth Rs5 lakh in her account. The complaint states that between March 2 and 23, Juyal carried out share trading on her behalf without her instructions. This cost her Rs9 lakh. Navrangpura police have arrested Juyal and are investigating the matter. Police said that they are trying to find out if Juyal acted on his own or was he helped by someone else working in the company.
