Ahmedabad rural police ask businessmen to watch out for criminal gangs

Seminar on industrial security also emphasised the need for keeping record of staff employed in nearby factories

Ahmedabad rural police have sent out a warning to keep a watch on the above-mentioned gangs who are involved in most of the criminal offences in their areas.

In a seminar organised by Ahmedabad rural police involving the business fraternity on Wednesday, the inspector general of police, Ahmedabad range, Ashish Bhatia specifically mentioned to keep a tab on gangs from the aforementioned regions.

"Our experiences of previous years reveal that there are specific groups from different regions who live on the outskirts of Ahmedabad. These people work as daily labourers, employed at different factories and commit crime time-to-time. Therefore, there is a need for security audit," Bhatia told the gathering of businessmen at district superintendent of police office, Makarba, SG Highway.

The seminar on 'Interactive session about industrial security and other issues' mainly focused on keeping a record of workers employed at factories in rural areas such as Sarkhej, Changodar, Sanand, Bavla, Dholka among others. Also, present in the seminar were businessmen whose factories were located in these areas.

District superintendent of police Sandip Singh delivered a brief presentation explaining the vital security measures to be undertaken near the factories. He said that taking into consideration the recent criminal offences, the companies should keep a track of workers including their identities, photo, fingerprints among others.

He also added that sixty-five traffic wardens will be deployed in Ahmedabad rural areas to tackle the traffic menace in the area.
