Ahmedabad ready to host science congress

Nearly 800 participants and 200 scientists from across the country will participate in the event.

While Ahmedabad is prepared to welcome future scientists of the country taking part in the 17th National Children Science Congress starting from Sunday at Science City, one of the hosts of the event, Swaminarayan Gurukul Vishwavidyalay Pratisthan International School is also ready with the joyful hospitality and bunch of activities to enrich participant and other students' science knowledge.

Nearly 800 participants and 200 scientists from across the country will stay at SGVP hostels for five days and the institute has planned to give maximum benefit to these intelligent minds.

Ravindra Trivedi, executive director international relations of SGVP said, "It is an exciting time for the country and Gujarat. Young and intelligent students with budding scientific temperaments are meeting for the first time in Gujarat.

Students from across the country will network to decide the future of science in the country." He added, "SGVP will be another place of learning for the participants of the NCSC along with the main event at the Science City, as teams of SGVP students and teachers have planned other activities, which will be full of cultural programs, guest lectures by prominent scientists, activity corner by science research organisation like PRL, ISRO etc."

Jaydev Songara, member of SGVP advisory committee said, "We have also organised an exhibition on the theme of the global warming and the earth. We are showcasing a theme of 'back to the basics' as a part of the solution to tackle this global phenomenon based on Indian culture and traditions."

Yash Patel, student of 9th standard said, "We have prepared the exhibition and appealed to visitors to come forward to save mother earth and to care, share and explore it. We should not be driven only by the concept of development at the cost of our nature. This exhibition will help visitors for understanding global warming. We have invited various schools around Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar. We are also hosting 120 students from different SAARC countries," said Jatan Bhanvadiya, another student.
