Ahmedabad driver flees with owner’s Rs25 lakhs

A complaint of theft was lodged by Arjan Bhatia, a resident of Sarth Bungalows-III, Ghatlodia against Sanjay Kshatriya, his driver at Vastrapur police station.

A complaint of theft was lodged by Arjan Bhatia, a resident of Sarth Bungalows-III, Ghatlodia against Sanjay Kshatriya, his driver at Vastrapur police station on Friday night. 

Kshatriya, 30, vanished with Rs25 lakh kept inside the former's car dickey on Friday night between 9 and 10 pm.

Bhatia, 50, a land broker, had employed Kshatriya, a resident of Megha House, CG Road as his car driver since the last eight months.

Bhatia had just brought Rs10 lakh from one Narendra Somani and Rs15 lakh from one Ketan Patel and kept the bag containing cash inside the dickey of his car. 

As soon as Bhatia reached home, he ran inside to attend nature's call and asked Kshatriya to bring the bag inside.

When Kshatriya did not come inside after some time, Bhatia went outside to look for him and to his dismay he found both the car and the driver missing. 

Bhatia then called his friend Kanhaiyalal to his home and the duo went about searching for the driver at his home in CG Road.

Unsuccessful in their attempt to locate Kshatriya, the duo informed Vastrapur police about the incident. Cops also searched for him at his residence and came to know that the motorcycle which Bhatia had given him for use was also missing.

Around 12:30 am in the night, Arjan's car was traced to near HL College campus with the booty missing.

Vastrapur police have commenced further investigation in the case and are on look-out for the theft accused.
