India will formally communicate to Pakistan about the errors in the list of 50 most wanted fugitives given to it by handing over a correct list within two weeks.

The CBI, National Investigation Agency (NIA) and other agencies are reviewing the entire list after finding two errors in it. India will formally convey to Pakistan about the mistakes and give a correct list within two weeks, government officials said.

The list was handed over to Pakistan during the Home Secretary-level talks in March. However, it was found that one person named in the list has been living in a Mumbai suburb while another person has been jailed in the metropolis.

India has not received any communication from Pakistan seeking clarification regarding errors in the list of the 50 most wanted terrorists and criminals, officials said, reacting to reports which appeared in the media in this regard.

Union home minister P Chidambaram had already taken responsibility for the "mistake".

The Home ministry also asked all states, union territories and probe agencies to update their list of wanted persons every three months and inform the Centre about it to avoid such mistakes in the future.
