African national held in Kerala for overstaying in India

An African national, who reportedly played for a Goan team, was arrested here for overstaying in the country after his visa term expired, police said today.

Fofano Lamine Lambanji Ratano Konaki, who holds passport of Republic De Guinee, an African nation, was arrested from a lodge yesterday for staying with a visa whose term got expired on October 10 last while his accomplice Lama Florent was found to have valid documents, police said.

A suo moto case against him has been registered under the provisions of Foreign Act 1960 and Passport Act, they said.
