The trustees of Ahmedabad Education Society (AES) have moved the Gujarat high court challenging the order of the chief metropolitan magistrate court. The magistrate court had, in the month of November, ordered police investigation against the trustees after a complaint by AES member Tushal Patel.

Patel had lodged a complaint before the charity commissioner alleging irregularities in the election procedure. He had claimed that the president, trustees and employees of AES conspired and ignored the charity commissioner's order. Those accused in Patel's complaint are AES president Ashok Gandhi, Shrenik Kasturbhai, Prafullbhai Anubhai and director SM Shah.

Patel has further alleged that the accused had prepared false voters' list, printed fake ballot papers and posted them to members in order to help their supporters win elections in the organisation.

The chief metropolitan magistrate has ordered ADGP CID (crime) to file an FIR against the president and the trustees of AES in connection with a complaint of duping, forgery and corruption. The trustees and the president have now moved HC for quashing the complaint against them.
