In what could be a major twist to the Scarlett Keeling death case trial, the accused today claimed that few pages from victim's diary were missing.

Both the accused - Samson D'Souza and Placido Carvalho, filed applications before the court seeking to know about the missing pages.

Goa children's court today directed the CBI which is investigating the case to file a reply to their application by September 3.

British teenager Scarlett's body was found on Anjuna shore on February 18, 2008.

The CBI has charged two locals of drugging, raping and leaving Scarlett to die on the beach.

The diary, with black cover was recovered during the investigation. Scarlett's mother, Fiona Mackeown, earlier last month identified the diary and its contents during her deposition before the court.

The diary was recovered from room of Scarlett's boyfriend Julio Lobo and had revealed several hidden facets of the teenager's life.

Scarlett's death was initially pushed under carpet by Goa police and they were forced to act after Fiona launched a campaign seeking justice to her daughter.

After initial investigations, the case was handed over to the CBI, which has filed chargesheet in Goa children's court against the two accused.
