A 'partial' victory, says Karnataka opposition parties

The opposition in Karnataka today described the BJP government winning the trust vote as a "partial" victory and pinned their hopes on the the high court ruling over disqualification of the 16 MLAs.

Reacting to the BJP victory for the second time in the House in four days, leader of the opposition Siddaramaiah said, "This is only the semi-final".

He said Congress was still awaiting the high court ruling on disqualification of 16 MLAs including five independents.

Congress state unit working president DK Shiv Kumar described BJP winning the confidence vote as a partial win as the disqualfied MLAs did not participate.

JD(S) leader Kumaraswamy said the court was still to decide the fate and hence today's vote of confidence could not be considered a victory till it gave its ruling.
