A ‘green’ extinguisher to douse all kinds of fire

Darvesh Fire and Safety Industries launched a portable flame inhibitor called 'FireKiller' in Ahmedabad on Tuesday.

"This is the first green flame inhibitor that is non-toxic and non-pressurised. It does not produce any organic accumulation," said Ashraf Pistawala, sales director of Darvesh Fire and Safety Industries.

The fire extinguishers, available in three different models, will be capable of extinguishing fire in different categories such as solid materials, ordinary combustibles, gaseous category objects, cable galleries and electronic devices.

The product is maintenance-free and has a shelf life of around 20 years. Although Pistawala could not give a satisfactory answer regarding the product's compatibility with GDCR norms, he claimed that they had taken approval of the chief fire officer of the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC). He said that the product has secured international certification from Italy, Germany, Spain, the US and South Africa.
