99 houses gutted in massive fire in UP

Around 99 houses were gutted after a massive fire broke out in Khairighat area near Bahraich, official sources said on Tuesday.

No casualties were, however, reported, the sources said.

The incident took place on Monday in Ambarpur village when the fire spread to larger areas, completely destroying the houses, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Indra Bhushan Verma said.

The exact cause of the fire has not been ascertained as of now, he said, adding that financial help would be given to the homeless victims after analysis of exact losses were made.
