9 people killed in bus-truck collision in Madhya Pradesh

The mishap occurred when a bus carrying the passengers from Jabalpur collided head-on with a truck coming from the opposite direction, killing seven persons on the spot.

Nine people were today killed and 15 others injured in a road accident on the national highway near Mandla in Madhya Pradesh, police said.

The mishap occurred when a bus carrying the passengers from Jabalpur collided head-on with a truck coming from the opposite direction, killing seven persons on the spot, they said.

Two others succumbed to their injuries in the district hospital, where the injured have been admitted, police said.

The deceased have not been identified yet, they said.

District collector KK Khare has announced an ex-gratia of Rs10,000 each to the kith and kin of the victims and Rs5,000 each for the injured.
