8-year-old raped by uncle in Delhi

An eight-year-old girl was raped allegedly by her uncle in outer Delhi, police said today.

The incident took place in Aman Vihar last evening when the victim's parents had gone to attend a marriage.

Rajesh Tiwari, 28, allegedly raped his niece when she was alone at her home and fled from the spot after threatening her with dire consequences.

Tiwari was later arrested and a case has been registered.

The incident came to light after the victim told her mother about the incident.

The girl was taken to Sanjay Gandhi hospital where a medical examination confirmed rape.
