71 army personnel to get award in J&K

Seventy-one serving army personnel will get gallantry and distinguished service awards during the army day function on January 15 in Jammu and Kashmir.

"Northern Command Chief Lt Gen KT Parnaik will present the awards," a senior army official said today.

Out of the total awards, 63 are Sena Medals for gallantry, four sena medals for distinguished services and four Vishist Seva Medal, he said.

The gallantry award winners included Major RS Rajiv, Subedar C Prasad Thapa and Lance Naik Sanjeev Kumar (posthumously).
