62 more test positive; dengue cases reach 3,703 in Delhi

The dengue menace continued in Delhi with the number of patients affected by the vector-borne disease reaching 3,703 today.
 
The city has reported seven dengue deaths this season.
 
A total of 62 fresh cases have been recorded today. The last time it was below 65 in a day was on September 11 when 64 new cases were detected. For most of the last 10 days, the city had been reporting over 90 cases in a day.
 
South Delhi continued to be the worst-affected this season with 492 cases, followed by Civil Lines (475), Rohini (424) and Central Zone (399).

The civic bodies are attributing the rapid increase in dengue cases this season to prolonged monsoon and stagnation of water at Commonwealth Games construction sites.
 
Delhi has also reported 112 cases of malaria and 20 of chikungunya this season.
