6 of a family die in mishap

Six members of a family travelling in a Maruti van died in a road mishap that took place in KH circle in Gandhinagar on Sunday morning. Five people, including two minor girls, were killed on the spot, while a woman succumbed to her injuries at the Gandhingar civil hospital. Two minor children are still undergoing treatment in the hospital.

According to reports, Suresh Vaishnav, a resident of sector 24 in Gandhinagar who is into catering business, had gone to Rajasthan last week along with his wife and other family members to attend a marriage ceremony. They were returning to Gandhinagar on Sunday morning when the mishap occurred at around 7 am. The Maruti van they were travelling in dashed against the rear side of a truck.

Those who died in the accident are Suresh Vaishnav, his wife Laxmi, their seven-year-old daughter, a relative Manohar and his wife Pushpa, besides another eight-year-old girl named Anjali.

The deceased Manohar's two children, Mamta and Vikram, are still undergoing treatment in the Civil hospital. Police have lodged a complaint of accidental death and started investigation.
