58 militants undergoing convictions in J&K

Jammu and Kashmir government today said that 58 ultras, including 43 foreign mercenaries, were undergoing convictions for indulging in militancy-related incidents in the state.

Jammu and Kashmir government today said that 58 ultras, including 43 foreign mercenaries, were undergoing convictions for indulging in militancy-related incidents in the state.
   
"At present 43 foreigners and 15 local militants are undergoing convictions for indulging in militancy-related activities in Jammu and Kashmir", chief minister Omar Abdullah said in an official release.
   
They will be released only after completion of their terms of punishment, he said.

He said at present 2,477 inmates were lodged in various jails in the state including 337 convicts and 1,914 under-trials.
