It seems that the fear of losing job has compelled some jawnas to give up their fight against "injustice". As claimed by the CEO of Gujarat Industrial Security Force (GISF), more than 50 agitating jawnas have agreed to join duty from Saturday.

"More than 50 of these jawans have already agreed to my appeal and others will follow suit soon," said Ajit Gupta, CEO of GISF, on Friday. According to him, he is concerned about their job security, as they may not get a private job
after losing this job.

"I did it in good faith. I told them that no private firm will take them after learning about their involvement in such activities and getting fired from this job will seal their fate for any future job prospect," said Gupta.

However, the General Federation of Trade Unions (GFTU), which is spearheading the stir, said the CEO passed an order threatening to replace these jawnas with new recruits. "We are receiving such threats for last two days. Our strike is totally legal and we will complain to the labour commissioner," said Amrish Patel, GFTU secretary.

According to Patel, the letter issued by the CEO clearly asked senior GISF officials not to allow any of the agitating jawnas to join duty. "The letter also directed them not to give salaries to the jawans," claimed Patel.

To this, Gupta said that no such letter had been issued by him and he was just trying to convince them to end their fast for the sake of security of many government establishments. "In my letter, I only asked the jawans to report to me directly whenever they want to join duty, as it is required as per the norms," said Gupta.
