482 arrested for food adulteration in Uttar Pradesh

The arrests were made during the raids conducted by FDA at medicine shops, blood banks besides shops selling eatables in JP Nagar, Fatehpur, Etawah, Rampur and Mahoba districts of the state.

Over 482 persons were arrested and action has been initiated against 59 others by Food and Drug Administration (FDA), for their involvement in adulteration of eatables, officials said here.

"In all, action has been taken against 541 persons for their involvement in adulteration. Of them, 482 persons have been arrested by the police in such cases", they said.

The arrests were made during the raids conducted by FDA at medicine shops, blood banks besides shops selling eatables in JP Nagar, Fatehpur, Etawah, Rampur and Mahoba districts of the state in the past few weeks.
