30 Gujarat police inspectors to get promotion

After the promotion of police sub inspectors to the inspectors, the home department is gearing up for the promotion of inspectors to deputy superintendents of police.

Sources close to the development said that there were some 50 police inspectors short listed for the promotion and out of them around 30 are expected to get the orders soon.

A police inspector said that there are many posts of DySPs still vacant mainly in the rural parts of the state and once the promotions are done, such posts will be filled.

A police source told DNA that the clearance had already been given by the home department but an official meeting by the senior officials is yet to be held.

“Once the meeting is held, the promotion letters will be dispersed,” he said. However, when the promotion orders will be passed is anybody’s guess. “It cannot be said at this stage, but it is expected in a very short time,” the source said.

The state government had already passed an order and 68 fresh candidates who had successfully completed the DySP training earlier in this month were given DySP postings.
