Tamil Nadu chief minister and DMK president M Karunanidhi once again played the Dalit card stating that a section of politicians and the media were targeting A Raja in the 2G spectrum scam because he belonged to the community.

Speaking at a rally in Vellore on Saturday night, he said pending a CBI probe and a case in the Supreme Court, DMK had asked Raja to resign to ensure smooth conduct of parliament.

“Unfortunately, even after his resignation, the opposition BJP and Left parties have continued to stall parliament, demanding a joint parliamentary committee probe. A section of the media is also continuously targetting Raja,” he said.

The DMK chief also “warned” Congress against succumbing to pressure from a few “local leaders” and breaking their alliance.
