2G scam: Court rejects Kanimozhi's plea for exemption from appearance

A Delhi court today dismissed DMK MP Kanimozhi's plea seeking exemption from personal appearance before it in connection with the 2G spectrum scam case on personal grounds.
   
Kanimozhi, daughter of Tamil Nadu chief minister M Karunanidhi, had expressed difficulty in appearing before the court on May 9 and 10.
   
However, Special CBI Judge O P Saini refused to grant any relief to the 43-year-old MP and directed her to remain present in the court on Monday.
   
The court also rejected a similar plea of Sharad Kumar, MD and CEO of Kalaignar TV.
