Essar Group has approached Supreme Court against its trial before Special CBI Court in 2G case.
Essar pleaded before SC that a trial be conducted before a magistrate as the company and its officials are not charged under Prevention of Corruption Act.
The CBI has withdrawn from the SC application seeking clarification over proceedings against Essar Group.
The apex court will hear Essar's plea on February 17.
