20-year-old girl commits suicide in Muzaffarnagar

A girl allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself from a ceiling of her room, while her lover attempted suicide at Nangla Rai village here in the district.
       
Nikki (20) and Ravi (22) fell in love with each other and eloped from their respective houses after their families opposed their relationship. They, however, returned later.

Nikki yesterday had a heated argument with her family as they had fixed her marriage without her consent. Later, her body was found hanging from a ceiling of her room, SP city Aakash Gulheri said.
       
The girl's body was cremated by her family members without informing the police.
       
Meanwhile, Ravi today attempted suicide after hearing about the death of his girlfriend. He is still battling for his life in a hospital here, Gulheri said.
